The Main Meal - @ The Father's Table

The main meal of this 5-course meal is by far the most important part of this buffet. When we look at the meaning of the word ‘main’, it is described as chief in size or importance. Without this course, you might just as well leave all the other courses. It will also be the most nourishing and balanced course – a plate filled with steak, veggies and carbs, Yes, the Bread of Life will be served. Being seated with Christ, around His table and talking to Him face to face, is an intimacy that no one should miss out on.

Moses had the privilege of meeting God in a way that nobody else in the Old Testament had.

We read about this in Numbers 12:1-8:

“Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite. “Has the Lord spoken only through Moses?” they asked. “Hasn’t he also spoken through us?” And the Lord heard this.

(Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.)

At once the Lord said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, “Come out to the tent of meeting, all three of you.” So the three of them went out. Then the Lord came down in a pillar of cloud; he stood at the entrance to the tent and summoned Aaron and Miriam. When the two of them stepped forward, He said,

‘Listen to my words:

When there is a prophet among you,

I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions,

I speak to them in dreams.

But this is not true of my servant Moses;

he is faithful in all my house.

With him I speak face to face,

clearly and not in riddles;

he sees the form of the Lord.

Why then were you not afraid

to speak against my servant Moses?’”

The Lord spoke to the prophets through visions and dreams, but when He spoke to Moses, it was face to face. What about us then We… we are NEXT LEVEL! We have gone from visions and dreams, to face to face, to Him climbing into us. Isn’t this just mind boggling? Our intimacy with God is at the highest level that it can be here on earth. The only other level is heaven.

These words ‘I am WITH you’ (Joshua 1:9) are also applicable today, and it hits home. Just as the name of Jesus: ‘Immanuel’ – God WITH us. To believers, I suppose these words will sound like this: ‘I am IN you.’

If you still doubt this, read John 14: 16,17: “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counsellor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.”

Even when we know and believe this, there may be times when we feel that our prayers are hitting the roof. In these times, bow your head and look inside of you. That is where you will find Him. God is not far – stop relying on your feelings.

There may also be times when you feel that you are not a worthy vessel who can host the Hosts of Hosts, but His Blood washed our sins away, cleansed us completely, and erases God’s memory about them. If God does not remember our sins, who are we to point them out to Him or remind Him about them?

Hebrews 10: 16,17: “This is the covenant that I will make with them: After those days, says the Lord: I will imprint My laws upon their heart, and on their mind. I will inscribe them [producing an inward change],” He then says, “And their sins and their lawless acts I will remember no more [no longer holding their sins against them].”

When Moses descended Mount Sinai with the tables of the covenant, “the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God” (Ex 34:29-35). Moses would veil his face to keep the people from beholding the glory radiating from his countenance.

Believers, with God inside of you, IMAGINE what you look like on the inside??? Eskom would be jealous ;)
