At The Father's Table (the first meal)

“The FIRE of the Lord is upon you! The FIRE of the Lord is upon you.” It felt as if I was nowhere, yet everywhere. It was as if a heavy blanket of peace covered me, removing any heaviness and making me feel lightheaded and light. The voice continued: “It is a new season. God is going to use you in a new way – a different way. He will reveal it to you.”

Lying low on Living Word Montana’s carpet, this must have been my highest high of all the highs of Women’s Day 2023. I did not feel the ‘fire’, until I was back in my seat, drinking all in. The fire rested on/ in my biceps. I stared at my arms to see if it was a visible fire, although I knew it will not be noticeable. Unlike previous times, I collapsed hard (yet so soft), and I heard EVERY word spoken as if it was played on ‘repeat’.

I have so much to share with you – the biceps story will have to wait for another week or two, but it is worth mentioning that this FIRE-Word came after my previous post about … yes – FIRE. Now look at how we can see that God is in the detail…always.

I need to remind you that I spoke about God showing me that the new house will be a place of gathering. When I told Him that He knows pretty well that I am not an entertainer, He answered that I don’t need to bring anything to the table, He will provide. And by the way, not only will He provide the ‘food’ for the table, but He also already provided the table. The precious previous owners left it as a gift.

The first guest speaker @ The Father’s Table at Living Word’s Women’s Day Feast, Pastor Shirley Naidoo, read from 2 Samual 9: “David asked, “Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?” Now there was a servant of Saul’s household named Ziba. They summoned him to appear before David, and the king said to him, “Are you Ziba?” “At your service,” he replied. The king asked, “Is there no one still alive from the house of Saul to whom I can show God’s kindness?” Ziba answered the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan; he is lame in both feet.” “Where is he?” the king asked. Ziba answered, “He is at the house of Makir son of Ammiel in Lo Debar.” So King David had him brought from Lo Debar, from the house of Makir son of Ammiel. When Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, he bowed down to pay him honor. David said, “Mephibosheth!” “At your service,” he replied. “Don’t be afraid,” David said to him, “for I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.” Mephibosheth bowed down and said, “What is your servant, that you should notice a dead dog like me?” Then the king summoned Ziba, Saul’s steward, and said to him, “I have given your master’s grandson everything that belonged to Saul and his family. You and your sons and your servants are to farm the land for him and bring in the crops, so that your master’s grandson may be provided for. And Mephibosheth, grandson of your master, will always eat at my table.” (Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.) Then Ziba said to the king, “Your servant will do whatever my lord the king commands his servant to do.” So Mephibosheth ate at David’s table like one of the king’s sons. Mephibosheth had a young son named Mika, and all the members of Ziba’s household were servants of Mephibosheth. And Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, because he always ate at the king’s table; he was lame in both feet.

It may be that you feel like a forgotten soul, full of shame, and not being worthy to sit at The Father’s Table but notice the following: Mephibosheth was taken out from Lo Debar, a barren place, a place with doom and gloom, a place of isolation with no life and no bread. You too, can be taken out of this desert and receive your inheritance. Even though you may have nothing to your name, your Name is written in His book. Your inheritance is waiting.

You are invited to the King’s Table where there is abundance of food, the Bread of Life and where your cup will always overflow. Come! Get out of the wilderness and lack! Receive your inheritance.

YOU can take your seat…a place of redemption and restoration. Sit around that table, just like Jesus did with His disciples. Gather around the table. At The Father’s Table, there will be fellowship, fuel for the fire, and food to prepare on the fire. There will ALWAYS BE PROVISION!
